I would have liked to written more in this post but unfortunately the good people at Blogger have made this impossible. Google Blogger was once a very simple tool to use, but, like all idiotic technology "innovators" they could not leave well enough alone. After a year of development they released their new Blogger interface to much ill considered fanfare in late 2011. The result was a resounding failure and rejection by much of the Blogger community. The backlash was such that Google were forced to delay their rollout of the new interface while they tried to fix it. They have not succeeded. After almost 12 months, Google forcibly deployed the new interface on all users, even though almost all its problems remain unresolved. New Blogger was simply awful. A lot of users have commented on its poor formatting, light orange text on white background, but my issues with it are a little more prosaic. It simply does not work. The so called 'what you see is what you get' interface does not work. It's as simple as that. You cannot set out posts, align text and photos, photos move about (even on this post of only 7 photos they jumped about all over the place). As someone who works in IT, this is an absolute disgrace.Hundreds of Blogger users have bombarded Google with their feedback to a resounding SILENCE and INDIFFERENCE. Of course, Google don't actually care. Why should they? They're a huge monolithic company of visionaries and innovators. Who are we - the customers - to tell them they aren't f-ing fantastic? So, after 5 odd years using what was a great product, I'm looking for an alternative. Unless by some miracle Google pulls its head out of its arse, you'll be seeing a lot less content on the blog.
